Our review

Cornhill Castle Hotel is situated in ten acres of beautiful countryside, overlooking the River Clyde and Tinto Hills. Perfect venue for fairy-tale weddings, short breaks or a relaxing meal with friends.

Close to the historic town of Biggar, Lanarkshire, the hotel is easily accessed from the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Cornhill Castle is one of Scotland's more unusual and elegant mansion houses, William Lieper's French Renaissance period chateau has undergone sensitive and tasteful restoration and conversion to a quality country hotel in Lanarkshire, offering the traveller a peaceful and comfortable haven, resting in beautiful countryside and providing a high standard of food and service.

A true hidden gem that is a little off the beaten track of the main traffic artery toward England, but well worth the bother of a diversion. Boasting twelve bedrooms in the combined original Georgian farmhouse and Lieper’s fantastic creation, there are already plan afoot to extend the accommodation footprint further

Manorview hotels acquired the property in 2016 and have already invested over three quarters of a million pounds in creating a new function suite and probably the most incredible honeymoon suite in Scotland. The Balmoral suite, stretches over three levels and occupies all of the front facing tower of this spectacular and imposing building. As well as the first floor sitting room the circular staircase takes you to the second-floor bedroom with its full height ceiling and imposing and majestic crystal chandelier. The bathroom boasts not only a full-size Jacuzzi bath but also a sauna and magnificent walk-in rainfall shower. The further surprise awaits on the third level at the top of the tower sits a room dedicated to love. Bedecked with Champagne remuage boards, it is a place to reflect and enjoy all that is special about being in love.

The hotel is fast building a reputation and burgeoning trade in the wedding market and is a remarkable venue that will not only see weddings as a growth market but will also attract corporate business for away days and team building events

Set in ten acres of rolling countryside with the river Clyde running by the Castle this is truly the place of fairy tales.
