Our review

Sometimes life is full of lovely surprises in the most unsought manner. Tigh na Leigh definitely falls into this character. Having never had reason to travel to Alyth, and it is not a place that you travel through, imagine my total surprise and delight to experience all that is Tigh na Leigh.

The guest house ratings on all social review platforms are a very high five star. The reason is clear and simple this is an exceptionally well run pristine and beautiful offering. Couple that with the charm and warmth of both Chris and Bettina, it is now easy to understand why the results are so outstanding.

The experience of staying at Tigh na Leigh offers all the comfort and luxury of a five star establishment but with the added quality of being personally looked after by the owners. A rare combination in today’s world of frequent travel and brand control and brain washing.

The thought and effort put into this experience unfolds at every touchpoint. The provenance of the food and its freshness through dinner is really excellent, bearing in mind this is a secondary career after a working life in New York and London for both Chris and Bettina. Breakfast produce of the highest calibre in both hot and cold offering reflect that dedication to perfection, and that is clearly what Tigh na Leigh strives for and achieves.

The wall in the hallway boasts of many awards and accolades from multiple awarding bodies and the dedication over the past seventeen years has justly brought its recognition and reward. It is reward for the meticulous attention to detail exacted throughout your stay and experience, and the return for taking time to subtly change and mould their offering to move gently with trends and times, without losing the primary essence of the most important piece of all, guest welfare. Brands boast about it, try to own parts of it, but Chris and Bettina, at Tigh na Leigh live and breathe it.
