Our review

Built in 1903, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian is a Grand Dame of the hotel world located at one end of Princes Street with magnificent views nestling under Edinburgh Castle. A stunning location within easy walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s major attractions, take a walk down the historic Royal Mile from the Castle down to the Palace of Holyrood house.

A really warm welcome awaits you from the experienced and incredibly knowledgeable concierge and reception teams. As you make your way around the hotel you will notice the artefacts and photographs around the hotel from over the years. This includes the original railway station clock saved after the fire of 1890. More recently a roll of honour was found in a ‘secret cupboard’ from the 1st World War.

Relax in the incredible Peacock Alley with a drink or enjoy one of the splendid afternoon teas on offer before having dinner in the famous Pompadour restaurant where you’ll find various food experiences on offer from a great a la carte menu through to a 7-course tasting menu with paired wines.

Alternatively have a drink in the lively Caley bar and then dinner in the Brasserie. Either way the food is terrific under the watchful eyes of the Michelin star rated Galvin brothers.

The spa and treatment rooms are a sure place to take it easy in, the 12-meter pool and therapy rooms where they are the only spa in the UK using Guerlain products.

At the end of a busy day collapse in your fabulous bedroom with sumptuous bedding and pillows and awake to a terrific choice of breakfast.

Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian is your perfect luxury hotel.
