Our review

The Isle of Arran is described as “Scotland in miniature” due to its rugged mountain peaks, forests and sandy coastline creating an outdoor adventure playground. Taken over by the Johnston family in 1988, Auchrannie has developed into a first-class Island Resort with two four-star hotels, leisure clubs, (two swimming pools), luxury Spa, choice of bars, restaurants and five-star self-catering lodges.

Winner of Family and Island Hotel awards as well as Scottish Hotel of the Year, 2015, Auchrannie is a Tourism success story with average year-round occupancy is around 90%, the vast majority being repeat guests. The Victorian mansion, Auchrannie House has stag heads, open fires, leisure centre and luxury rooms for a romantic break.  Brambles Grill serves Scottish beef, venison and seafood; Eighteen69 for Scottish-style tapas – chilli beef ribs, whisky-seared salmon.

The Spa Resort offers creatively designed accommodation for couples, friends and families – dog friendly too: Kids Eat, Stay and Play packages with leisure activities for all, pool, play barn and gastropub food and drinks at Cruize Bar Brasserie. Take time out at Aspa Spa, a hideaway retreat for pampering face and body treatments.

As well as seven Golf Courses, the island is an adventure sports destination – waterfall abseiling, gorge scrambling, sea kayaking, beach walks, wildlife – golden eagles, red deer, seals, dolphins, sharks and often whales.  Tour around to visit Brodick Castle, Bronze Age standing stones at Machrie Moor; or climb 2,866 feet up Goatfell for stunning views, Arran Distillery, Arran Aromatics, arts and craft galleries.

Auchrannie Resort offers a leisurely escape, a Destination Resort for family fun, romantic weekend, whether for active sports, relaxation, wining and dining.  As the hotel brochure warns, “Auchrannie is addictive!”
