Our review

A very warm welcome awaits you at this superbly located Inn.  On a prominent position on the A68 with great road links to Edinburgh and Newcastle overlooking the large village green and adjacent to the cricket club.

A fabulous location for local businesses, tourists and country sports supporters. Billy Hamilton and his friendly team are more than happy to advise on local activities. The Borders are superb for exploring the many Abbeys and Castles in the area as well as wonderful walks and scenery.

The19 bedroomed 4*rooms at The Buccleuch Arms are comfortable and beautifully clean many overlooking the large village green and adjacent cricket ground.

The refurbished warm and cosy bar has a wonderful wide-ranging menu and great selection of drinks.  The owners take a great deal of pride in the food and the quality far surpasses expectations but at realistic prices. The owner has put together a carefully selected wine list with a wide range of wines, many available by the glass and at affordable prices.

To the back of the Inn is the Blue Coo bistro overlooking the manicured garden with picnic tables, a real sun trap and great place for a drink and meal.

Local provenance is important and the team take a serious view on utilising the best produce from local suppliers wherever possible. The comfortable lounge is a lovely room to relax in with its toastie fire, curl up and read a book and enjoy a nice pot of tea!
