Our review

A bit like Dr Who’s TARDIS, The Indigo’s small entrance opens up into a smart contemporary 64 bedroomed hotel with popular and contemporary bar and restaurant.

Located on Edinburgh’s famous main thoroughfare, Princes Street, you couldn’t be more central. Waverley Station is literally across the road and from the hotel you can see from Carlton Hill all the way to the Sir Walter Scott monument and onto Edinburgh Castle.

A warm welcome awaits you in the circular style lobby. By now you will be aware of the hotel’s theme of featuring Scottish famous greats, which are apparent throughout the public areas and bedrooms.

Juniper – the aptly named bar, is popular with all. The modern design and featured gin based cocktails have all contributed to the success of this busy bar. The well trained bartenders will be delighted to serve you a classic cocktail or one of their delicious specialities, before you enjoy dinner in the restaurant ‘20’. The menu features some of Scotland’s finest dishes, superbly cooked and beautifully presented. Also featured is a fabulous range of steaks, cooked on the Josper grill capturing all the smoky charcoal flavours.

Much of the hotel has been recently refurbished to a high quality contemporary finish, with a few quirky twists. Within luxuriously appointed bedrooms and on high quality bedding, you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep before tucking in to a superb breakfast. The freshness and range from the outstanding cold buffet will set you up for the day; there is a fabulous range of individually cooked hot items from the main menu.

Whatever your reason for staying in Edinburgh, you will enjoy a great night in The Indigo, Princes Street.
